Pennsylvania Resources

Pennsylvania Office of the Victim Advocate The purpose of the Victim Advocate is to represent the rights and interests of crime victims before the Board of Probation and Parole and the Department of Corrections, provide as well as other victim services, including the Address Confidentiality Program (ACP). The ACP helps victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking hide a new home, work or school address from their perpetrators by providing eligible victims with an alternative mailing address.

PCCD Office of Victims’ Services The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s Office of Victims’ Services ensures that victims of crime get the help they need to transcend their trauma and move forward with their lives.

PA SAVIN (Pennsylvania Statewide Automated Victim Information and Notification) PA SAVIN is an innovative, free, confidential and automated service. Victims, their friends and family, and concerned citizens can register to be notified about the transfer, release or escape of an offender in a Pennsylvania county jail or state prison.

Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare (DPW) The DPW provides a notification service for victims regarding the transfer of an offender to a mental health care facility.

Pennsylvania Coalitions

MADD MADD’s threefold mission is to stop drunk driving, support victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking.

PCADV: Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence PCADV is a private non-profit organization with a statewide network of 62 domestic violence programs across the Commonwealth. PCADV promotes safety and justice for battered women.

PCAR: Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape PCAR is an organization working at the state and national levels to prevent sexual violence. PCAR has a statewide network of 52 rape crisis centers.

Coalition of Pennsylvania Crime Victim Organizations (COPCVO): COPCVO strives to positively impact Pennsylvania victim services through a variety of projects and programs.


National Resources

NCVC: National Center for Victims of Crime The National Center for Victims of Crime is the nation’s leading resource and advocacy organization for crime victims and those who serve them.

NOVA: National Organization for Victim Assistance NOVA is a private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization of victim and witness assistance programs and practitioners, criminal justice agencies and professionals, mental health professionals, researchers, former victims and survivors, and others committed to the recognition and implementation of victim rights and services.

NRCDV: National Resource Center on Domestic Violence The NRCDV provides support to all organizations and individuals working to end violence in the lives of victims and their children through technical assistance, training and information on response to and prevention of domestic violence.

NSVRC: National Sexual Violence Resource Center The NSVRC serves as the nation’s principle information and resource center regarding all aspects of sexual violence.

OVC: Office for Victims of Crime The OVC was established by the 1984 Victims of Crime Act to oversee diverse programs that benefit victims of crime.

OVW: Office on Violence Against Women The OVW, a component of the U.S. Department of Justice, provides national leadership in developing the nation’s capacity to reduce violence against women.

RAINN: Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network RAINN is the nation’s largest anti-sexual assault organization. RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673).
